Editorial Policy

The standards governing TopBetting research, publication, review and correction.

TopBetting publishes betting intelligence, market guides and operator-footprint records for African markets. Our editorial standard is evidence before verdict.

Editorial priorities

We prioritise accuracy, country-level context, visible limitations, reader safety and practical usefulness. We avoid universal claims where the evidence only supports a local conclusion.

Publication gates

Country gateways may publish with honest unknown states. Operator pages require a defensible identity record and publishable market presence. Intelligence publications require a named scope, evidence cut-off, methodology, limitations and editorial review.

Sources

Primary sources are preferred for regulatory and licensing claims. Operator materials may establish what an operator says, but they are not treated as independent proof. Secondary reporting may provide context and leads for further verification.

Ordering and inclusion

Commercial value does not determine editorial eligibility, evidence state or factual ordering. We do not sell a place inside an evidence-derived ranking or table.

Language

We avoid guaranteed-win language, artificial urgency, “safe everywhere” claims and betting-as-income framing. Calls to action remain informational.

Review

Material changes should be dated and reviewed. When information is no longer current, we update it, mark it stale or remove it from current comparison surfaces while retaining an appropriate record.
